Solvent Extraction Equipment
Description

Rusredmet specializes in solvent extraction, a key process for the efficient recovery, concentration, and purification of valuable metals. This continuous, high-throughput method operates at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure, minimizing energy and reagent use.

Benefits of Solvent Extraction:

Precise separation of metals with similar properties, including REEs, platinum-group metals, zirconium, hafnium, tantalum, and niobium;
Production of high-purity metals and compounds (99–99.995%);
Recovery from polymetallic ores, concentrates, and low-grade raw materials;
Environmentally responsible closed-loop processing with minimal wastewater and emissions;
Reduced capital and operating costs.

Our Capabilities:
R&D of new extraction processes;
Design of industrial and pilot-scale horizontal mixer-settlers, pulsed columns, and columns with mesh trays or structured packing;
Laboratory-scale multistage continuous extraction units;
Pilot testing and process optimization to determine mass transfer and phase separation parameters.

We design and manufacture two main categories of industrial solvent extraction equipment:

1. Flow-contact extraction columns
Energy-free column systems—tray columns and packed columns—where phase contact is achieved through counter-current flow.

2. Energy-driven extraction systems
Including:
Horizontal box-type mixer-settlers with mechanical agitation
Pulsed columns with mesh trays or packing
Air-agitated columns with mesh trays or packing

Our horizontal mixer-settlers offer working volumes up to 12 m³ and capacities up to 40 m³/h (total phase throughput). Column units are available with diameters up to 2,500 mm, heights up to 15,000 mm, and capacities up to 60 m³/h. Equipment is manufactured from polypropylene with a metal reinforced shell, ensuring durability and chemical resistance.

All extraction equipment is engineered to order, fully tailored to the specific process and operational parameters of each client.

Laboratory Mixer–Settler Extractor
Description

Single-Stage Solvent Extraction Unit for R&D and Small-Scale Production

The unit is designed for modeling and validating the technical feasibility of continuous solvent extraction processes using minimal material volumes. It is also suitable for low-throughput production of high-purity metal compounds.

Key Features
Single-stage mixer–settler (one extraction stage). Constructed from polypropylene, ensuring compatibility with the vast majority of solvent extraction systems.
Demountable housing with removable cover:
Simplifies assembly, reduces material use, eliminates organic/aqueous phase dead zones, and allows easy removal of solid residues.
Integrated pre-mixing chamber:
Located at the bottom of the unit and connected to the mixing zone via a flanged vertical nozzle for optimal phase contact.
Independent mechanical mixer and phase-transfer system within the mixing chamber.

Front-mounted interface:
All phase inlets/outlets, adjustable internal aqueous-phase recirculation, and process control elements are conveniently positioned on the front side for easy operation.

Flexible modular layout:
Units can be mounted on individual or shared frames and connected by flexible interstage overflow lines, allowing rapid assembly and disassembly of multi-stage extraction systems.
